How to clear a stuffy nose in less than 5 minutes

DO THIS (be sure to breath deeply and slowly the whole time):
1. Shake your head, tap or scrub it fiercely for at least 30 seconds.
2. Massage the entire ear, especially the inside flap, and gently tug on it in all directions, especially away from the head.
3. Press gently just under the cheekbones, and slowly increase your pressure for a count of 20, then slowly slide outward under the cheeks all the way to the ears. Yawn (open the jaw), and (count slowly to 20), continue the stroke by going underneath the ears and down the two sides of the neck to the collarbone. Repeat 2 more times.
WHY DOES IT WORK:
1.The head and scalp contain many lymph channels and increased circulation helps them to clear up congestion.
2. The ears hold acupoints and reflexology for the entire body, and the inside rim is for sinuses.
3. The sinuses hold a reservoir of fluid just under the cheek bones, and this can be drained towards the ears and out of the head. Yawning opens the jaw, which releases congestion gathered at the ear lymph nodes.

COPYRIGHT and SELLING OUT

Be careful which rights you convey.
Whether you're going with a traditional publisher, partnering, or using a co-op publisher, make sure you maintain the copyright to your intellectual property (your book). Too many authors have unknowingly "sold their copyright rather than "lease" the rights for a (short) period of time.
It was hard work gaining an agent to present your book to publishers. The call came. A big publisher is interested in your book. You fly to NYC to complete the deal. The book will come out next year, after editing. Months pass. They red line everything and take away your title (they tried to do the same thing to John Gray who fought for Men are From Mars) which will make your book just another generic book on the shelf.
Two years later your book is released. Everyone is elated. You have put up a substantial amount of your money to promote your book even if it is with a traditional publisher (that's one of your selling points to get them to publish your book). You're killing yourself with a tour of book singings and media interviews. Your mom sees you on Good Morning America. Your book shoots to below 4,000 on Amazon.com ratings. You and your agent hammer the publisher because you find out they only printed 5,000 books. If the books aren't in the store when the media blitz hits, you're dead meat. You're hauling cases of books around in your car to make sure the book stores you have scheduled signings with have books when you arrive. You are surprised by how few show up for your book signings. It's seems the only ones there just happen to be in the book store at the time or friends and relatives you have invited.
Instantly there are used copies of your book for sale on Amazon.com. Yep, the 500 books you sent out with the press release were picked off in the mail room or by the media staff and sold to the second-hand market.
You're depressed because your book hasn't made it on the New York Times Best Sellers List. Your author friends laugh and tell you had you not had that vision and motivation you would probably would not have written the book.
The blitz has peaked. You drop to 9,000, then to 22,000, and 62,000 on Amazon.com ratings. Two weeks later you have dropped to 220,000. This is the life of a book. Three months later, the publisher remainders the book, even though you know it can take up to a year for a book to make it's stride. All the work you thought you wouldn't have to do if you self published, you've had to do anyway.
Yea, I know it's not the money. But all this for .35 cents per copy sold less royalty advances and returned books. What did you figure for self
publishing? Around $4,000 with cover art for 1,000 books on your digital print run with a retail price of $19.95. You need to sell 200 books to break even. You might have spent twice that much just marketing your book published by that big NYC publisher. So, with a 5,000 print run with that publisher, less 500 books for marketing, leaves 4500 books at .35 each for a grand total of $1575.00. Self publishing after selling 200 books to recover your investment leaves you $15,960. Yes, you put up all the money, but you end up with 10 times more profit if you sell them at retail (granted less if they are sold on Amazon.com or through a distributor). And you get to keep the book the way you wanted with your original title.
You want to get your book back to self publish with your killer original title. There's a problem. You don't own the copyright. No one will talk to you. You can't even buy the remaindered books. You call an attorney and your agent (who should have protected you). You threaten to sue. Months pass. Then a year. Sorry, you or someone else didn't protect you by keeping the copyright to your book. Even Tom Clancy keeps his copyrights. Why didn't you?
