Dr. Karen Gail Lewis
Topics: Baby Boomers, Midlife, Relationships, Women's Issues Master the art of communication with the opposite sex and cut the staggering rate of relationship meltdown. A family therapist and author with 35 years of experience in her field, Dr. Karen Gail Lewis, teaches men and women how to recognize the distinctly different ways they express themselves and then bridge the communication gap that divides them. “With 60-75% of marital problems rooted in gender-related differences, both sexes need a wake-up call to avert a self-made disaster,” says Lewis, who helps men and women to “communicate clearly, argue productively, listen carefully to others and make sure we are heard.” Most important, she teaches both sexes to recognize when they aren’t communicating well. Lewis also focuses on the “shadow effect” of childhood sibling relationships that manifests years later in both our personal and professional lives. The author of six books, her most recent release, With or Without a Man: Single Women Taking Control of Their Lives, addresses the challenges faced by single women living in a society that values marriage. Her upcoming eBook is The Key to a Solid Marriage: Study The Gender Dictionary. Dr. Lewis has been featured in top U.S. newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, Cosmopolitan, Woman's Day, and Ladies Home Journal.
