The Heroine’s Journey:  From Fear to Fulfillment:  Take the Heroine’s Journey

Did you know that the writers of our stories, novels, films today – and the most ancient of storytellers were writing about us?  Yes, maybe they put a few magical beasts in there to build the drama, but at their very core they are stories of human development…how the “ordinary” person leaves their village and sets out on a journey to discover…themselves.  This is the hero’s journey or the heroine’s journey.  Susanna Liller teaches, coaches, speaks within the unifying and clarifying framework she calls The Heroine’s Journey.

The Heroine’s Journey is an archetype, a myth, a story that is found in all cultures in all times.  It’s the storyline of our life – more particularly, how we grow and develop and become our heroine selves, our big selves …provided we make certain choices.  It’s all about leaving your comfort zone, crossing the threshold into uncharted territory and being tested.  Stay in your comfort zone, refuse to take the journey, and your heroine self may never appear!  Now that would be too bad!

Susanna shares the map she’s created for the journey and she is your personal guide – sort of your very own Glinda, the character who appears for Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz and helps her on her heroine’s journey.  Her talks challenge women to believe in themselves.  Learning they are on a time honored journey is confidence instilling in itself. Women leave empowered and renewed.  They realize they are heroines!

Often the hardest step on the Heroine’s Journey is the first one, crossing the threshold or leaving your comfort zone.  Courage is called for – the courage to begin, to just do it.  The Comfort Zone Challenge invites everyone to participate and support is built because you’re not doing it alone. 

Susanna presents the overall steps of the Heroine’s Journey; what it takes to make that first step into the unknown; and then gives you the encouragement and support to do it.  Groups have done this as a group project – charting their progress until everyone is out of their comfort zone and on the road!
