Jack Barnard –– the emcee for this singular event and one of its main presenters — is a master presentation and branding coach, a media trainer and writer: a true maverick in the business. An audience must be engaged. That engagement comes through the use of dynamic openings and closings, humor, and invigorating, relevant interactive exercises.
Openings/Closings
A dynamic, pull-out-the-stops opening can be the critical difference. First impressions count. Fair or foul, audiences rush to judgment about the credibility and authority of a speaker. Ninety seconds into your presentation, they will have already formed opinions about your speaking style and your topic — maybe even about you, your parents and your children.
So knowing how to hook your audience with an engaging opening can make a memorable difference; and then learning how to move your audience with a memorable closing that “kisses” the opening can save an otherwise pedestrian talk.
Storytelling We live in a storytelling culture. Our movies are two-hour stories, our sitcoms twenty-two minute stories, our songs three-minute stories, our commercials one-minute and thirty-second stories. We-the-people are so used to absorbing through stories that when we don’t get them, the medicine doesn’t go down as sweetly.

There you are in front of an audience. The Game is on, what does the audience want?
They want a life-changer!
To do that, you have to know how to create an authentic, energizing, over-the-wall-of-their-comfort-zones relationship. You have to connect and go deep.
You can have your topic nailed, memorized word-for-word (which frankly, is stupid), but if you are not present, in the moment, comfortable in your body, free in your emotions, spontaneous — somehow or other we know it, and the results of your presentation are greatly diminished.
Presence...Here Now Here Now
Ultimately, real results, true movement comes down to something that is all but invisible: the authentic connection that the speaker makes with the audience and his/her ability to be in the present moment. Only in the present moment does the magic happen.
Trust is the name of the game. To really master the speakers’ art, you have to trust yourself in the presence of an audience...you have to trust your instincts, trust your words — yes, even trust the audience.
We’ll play and explore dynamic ways to let go and trust the moment; to jumpstart your spontaneity, creativity, comfort and confidence. We’ll practice timeless tricks and techniques to overcome the Dread (fear of speaking).
